Route 17 Change

Effective August 25, Route 17-Woodland/Airport will no longer have Saturday and Sunday service. The weekday schedule will remain unchanged.
Route 17 Saturday and Sunday Service Discontinued as of August 25
Due to extremely low ridership, the Rapid Board decided at its May meeting to stop Saturday and Sunday service on Route 17-Woodland/Airport. Performance has been poor since the start of the route last year.
"The Board looked at the numbers and based on the inefficiency of the route, they made the decision to eliminate the unproductive service," said Jennifer Kalczuk, spokesperson for The Rapid. "Compared to other routes, this service was 3 to 4 times the cost per passenger. We'd rather put those resources where they can be used more effectively."
