Bus Stop Relocated to Provide Better Access

The Rapid and RiverTown Crossings reached an agreement to relocate the bus stop to a location that will accommodate the needs of all bus patrons. The stop will be located on the south side of the mall, between the Cinemark Theater building and the mall. This area is covered and the walk across the drive lane is accessible to all and only about 30 feet from the mall entrance.

"We feel that our concerns were understood and met as well as the concerns of the people using The Rapid bus system" said Randy Zimmerman, senior general manager of RiverTown Crossings. "We are pleased that this issue has been put to rest to everyone's benefit."

"I am happy that we were able to work with mall management to resolve this issue. Mall employees and shoppers who use the bus once again have a safe, convenient point of access," commented Peter Varga, CEO of The Rapid.

Because the layover point will change from RiverTown Crossings to Meijer, passengers should use the scheduled southbound (Route 8) and westbound (Route 44) timepoints to determine when the bus will arrive and depart the mall.

The change is effective Monday, December 18th. New schedules will be posted on the web site as soon as possible.
